Delgado Libraries subscribe to many on-line databases which provide access to digital copies of journals. These databases allow students to easily search for articles on a wide variety of topics and then print, save, or e-mail the articles found.

The decision of which electronic database to use is based on what type of research you are doing. Delgado's list of available databases can be searched by title, subject or vendor.

If you want to search multiple journals by subject to find articles on your research topic the database Academic Search Complete is very helpful with over 10,000 full text journals and periodicals. Try using the search term single parent to pull up articles. I found lots of articles when I tried this. If you want to be more specific you can use multiple search terms such as single parent AND low income.

You can access our databases from the City Park campus without signing in or from any location with Internet access by using your LOLA information. When it asks for a username and password, use your LOLA# for the username and your birthdate formatted mmddyy for the password.
