In order to properly cite a book you need to have information about it such as title, author, publisher and date of publication. You also need to know which style format your instructor prefers your citations to be in. Many prefer APA or MLA. We have citation guidelines for each style on the Delgado Library Website.

You might also look at the Purdue OWL MLA Formatting and Style Guide

You can also visit a citation website, such as http://citationmachine.net/, to help you format your citation. You can also use the citation creator application EasyBib, located on the library's website.
